Product Description Brendan fraser is elliot richards a hapless love-starved computer technician who falls prey to sinfully sexy elizabeth hurley when he agrees to sell her his soul for seven fabulous wishes. But the sly princess of darkness has more than a few tricks up her sleeve. Studio: Ingram Entertainment Release Date: 04/15/2003 Starring: Brendan Fraser Elizabeth Hurley Run time: 93 minutes Rating: Pg13 Director: Harold Ramis
Amazon.com Brendan Fraser stars in IBedazzled/I as Elliot, a dweebish office worker who yearns for Alison (played by Frances O'Connor from IMansfield Park/I), a coworker who barely knows he exists. When he blithely says he'd give his soul for Alison, the Devil appears (Elizabeth Hurley, IAustin Powers/I) and says she'll give him seven wishes in exchange. Elliot is dubious at first, but agrees out of desperation. Unfortunately, his every wish always leaves the Devil a little wiggle room. When he asks to be rich and powerful, the Devil turns him into a drug lord beset on all sides. When he asks to be a successful, well-endowed writer, the Devil adds a male lover to the mix. The setup and situations are clever, though IBedazzled/I doesn't delve into any real moral or theological questions and has a little less bite than the original it's based on (from 1968, starring Dudley Moore and Peter Cook). But it does provide some better comic substance than Fraser has had in most of his previous roles (IGeorge of the Jungle/I, IEncino Man/I). Fraser demonstrated in IGods and Monsters/I that he could hold his own dramatically with the likes of Brit thespian Ian McKellen, and he's consistently been a charming presence in movies enjoyable (IThe Mummy/I) and not so enjoyable (IDudley Do Right/I). IBedazzled/I may not give him any more movie-making clout, but it does give his fans something to enjoy. O'Connor is entirely pleasant in her largely straight role, and Hurley fills out her part by delectably filling out a number of revealing outfits. An enjoyable bit of froth. I--Bret Fetzer/I

Rates the same as Mannequin January 1, 2009 I give it 2 1/2 stars because it has some redeeming, feel good things going on at the end. About the same as another goofball teen flick set in San Francisco with the sexy female who engages in sexy play acting with the goofy male lead, and does magical things - Mannequin. So if you think Mannequin is great, then you'll love this. Switcher, you are one sick puppy!br /br /The plot is somewhat similar to the original 1967 Bedazzled (which I would rate at 4 stars), but without the witty, funny dialog. And without Peter Cook's thought-provoking theological musings, or Dudley Moore's whimsical musical scoring. So the newer version of Bedazzled resembles the original in title only. And there's a big difference between a goofball teen flick and a classic witty black comedy. It's sort of like Stripes made up to follow the same plot as Dr. Strangelove.
A funny and fiesty comedy. December 7, 2008 Bedazzled is a very enjoyable comedy. It is funny and fiesty and has some truly wonderful cinematographic moments (opening credits, Liz Hurley's changing outfits, etc). It is also thoughful and religion-themed (although Christian fundies will cut your throat for saying that) and 'make you feel warm and fuzzy' kind of a movie. Even though the beach scene was weak due to cheesy and not very believable acting, I am surprised that this movie's ratings are so low given how good the movie is overall.
A wonderful story about desire gone awry! September 28, 2008 Brenden Fraiser (Elliot Richards) and Elizabeth Hurley (The Devil) become a dynamic duo in this thrilling romantic comedy! What would you give for seven "utterly fabulous" wishes? Your one, "overrated," "piddling little soul," perhaps? If you got them, what would you do with them? Wish for power? Fame? The Presidency? The one woman that you've always wanted but who never noticed you? This is one, sexy, scandalous comedy that you cannot miss!
Seven wishes? I only need one and it's Elizabeth Hurley! August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recorded this movie on my DVR mainly because it was in HD and I had never gotten around to seeing it. It was really a pleasant surprise. I am not a fan of Brendan Fraser by any means, but he pulled off a bunch of characters and showed more of an acting range than I knew he had. The real star of the show is the devil herself. Elizabeth Hurley looks amazing in her many (and I do mean many) sexy outfits. Her face and body alone are worth watching for the 90 minutes, but her acting holds up good as well. br /br /Bedazzled isn't a great movie, or even a really good one, but there is enough humor and eye candy to keep almost anyone entertained.br /br /3 and 1/2 out of 5 stars
This Is Such A Good Movie August 10, 2008 Let's be honest for a second; Brendan Fraser isn't exactly known as the worlds best actor and with that being said, this is the movie for him. It's silly and just requires someone to take on a few different roles withing the same movie. Bedazzled has always been one of my favourite movies as I'm a fan of silly comedy that at least has a point. The point of this movie? Well, I'm not really sure but I know there's one in there somewhere. After all, if you have a movie where the devil is played by one of the sexiest women in the world, there has to be a message in that movie. I'm thinking the scene set in the classroom in which Satan is a sexy teacher with a fetching belt... Sorry skirt.br /br /Back to the movie. Fraser plays Elliot Richards, a lovable loser who really needs to catch a break. He's after the heart of one of his co-workers, Alison (Frances O'Connor) ((I know, she's terrible)) she doesn't notice him and probably doesn't even realise he exists. Elliot decides that the only way in which he can get Alison is to sell his soul to the devil. The only real problem is, that Satan is sexy, not just sexy but smoking hot. I guess that could be called ironic. The Devil's played by Liz Hurley by the way. Instead of just taking his soul for Alison, she instead offers him 7 wishes which place him in crazy situations that all give him the opportunity to win Alison over. He becomes a Basketball superstar, a drug lord and a gay academic.br /br /This is a really good movie with effects that are done very well indeed. The scene in particular when he's a 7 foot basketball player really display the skill of the special effects team. I loved this movie and had some really great comic moments that I think everyone will enjoy.br /br /Buy it, you wont be disappointed.
